How to Read Aim Results: Score, Accuracy, Reaction and Variation

A high score feels good, but it does not say whether the next round can repeat it. Several metrics together show whether speed improved, movement became cleaner, or one round simply happened to feel easy.

Score is an outcome, not a diagnosis

Score combines hits, speed and streak-related factors, so it is useful for an overall trend. Alone, it cannot tell you whether recognition was slow, stops were messy or attention faded.

When reviewing, note the score direction first, then use accuracy and average reaction to explain it. Do not open data only after a bad score.

Pair accuracy with average reaction

Rising accuracy with similar average reaction usually means cleaner movement. Faster average reaction with a sharp accuracy drop often means rushed shots or overshoot.

If both stay stable while hits per second rises, pauses are shrinking without losing quality. That is usually healthy progress.

Fastest reaction and reaction variation

Fastest reaction is one best response, not a daily standard. Lower reaction variation means repeated responses are closer together; it is more useful than a single record low when judging repeatability.

Four common combinations

  • Score up, accuracy down: speed is ahead of control.
  • Score flat, accuracy up: movement quality improved and pace can rise slightly.
  • Personal best high, recent average low: do not let one peak change settings.
  • Fast average reaction, low consistency: use shorter blocks and stop before fatigue.

Reading the trend chart

Choose one drill, one duration and one time range. Up and down movement is normal; look for a change in the middle of several sessions. If sensitivity, target size or crosshair changed recently, treat those rounds as an adaptation period rather than mixing them with the old setup.
